What message did you choose for your RP bracelet? Why?

"Be brave." It's something I have to tell myself multiple times each day and has proved to be useful, particularly recently when I was involved in a fierce battle with a cockroach alone in my apartment.

One thing most people don’t know about you?

I'm a pretty mysterious woman so there are many things. But probably that I was a pretty beastly javelin thrower in high school–they called me Xtina Warrior Princess. My jav was pink and I wore massive pearls to fool my opponents into thinking I sucked (which surprisingly I didn't). There are photos...

Current obsession?

Pink sunsets, poodles, Judge Judy's street style, and Mitt Romney's five sons.

Favorite place to unplug?

Ideally a walk through Trastevere on a fall day, but more realistically probably my couch with a glass of cold Chianti.

Current song on repeat?

"Sisters of the Moon" by Fleetwood Mac

Girl crush?

Stevie Nicks

Go to cocktail?

Tie between an Aperol Spritz and a Nolet’s and soda with precisely five limes.

What's your vice?

Espresso. It's my drug of choice and I probably drink way too much of it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What are the only beauty products you need?

Only? Oh boy. Let’s see…Clinique Clarifying Lotion, La Prairie Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal cream, Glossier Super Pure serum, Glossier Boy Brow, Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint, Sephora Cream Lip Stain, Glossier Haloscope in Quartz, and Maybelline The Falsies mascara. And pink cotton balls! I'm a beauty maximalist; I need them all!

Beauty secret?

Avoiding the sun at all costs, and CAP Beauty’s elixir.

Favorite Instagrammer?

My friend Katie of @the12ishstyle. She's killing it.

What scares you?

Sinkholes and a worldwide broccoli shortage.

Your motto?

“Not enough time for hating yourself. Too many things to make. Go.” It’s something I heard via Tavi Gevinson and I’ve found it immensely helpful. I have that written on my mirror right now.

Best advice you've ever received?

To embrace failure because it can lead to things so wonderful that you'll be glad it didn't work out as you'd hoped.
